SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for the development and implementation of day-to-day corporate communications strategies to inform and educate core internal audiences and business partners in order to advance the strategic priorities of the health system. Serve as communications contributor for internal and corporate publications and communications channels, work with freelancers and fellow Penn State Health Marketing and Communications staff members and senior leadership to produce projects such as employee news, informational bulletins, talking points and public remarks. Ensure compliance with editorial guidelines and visual standards. The incumbent will be included in senior management meetings to aid in sourcing key organizational messages and is expected to demonstrate confidentiality on matters as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Corporate Communications or other related field required.

5 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, journalism, and/or marketing required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

A working knowledge of publications, internal communication processes and strong project management skills required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to think strategically under pressure, and the ability to maintain positive relationships with hospital, system and College of Medicine leaders required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous health care experience preferred.
