SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Mother-Baby Nurses educate and assist new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the postpartum period, while in the hospital setting. They perform the dual role of caring for the infants and educating mothers about care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Associates Degree in Nursing Required.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment required.
One (1) year of post-graduate nursing experience within the past two (2) years.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
