Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.Summary: The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Nursing Translational Research (part of HUP Quality and Safety team) Co-op will assist in data management and data entry for benchmark participation and will provide project support. The Co-op will assist the Manager of Nursing Quality, Manager of Nursing Clinical Data Systems and their designees with project consultations, project work, presentation development, and will have the chance to observe certain nursing, quality, and safety leadership meetings. The Co-op will gain exposure to data management and governance systems, quality improvement methodology, project management, quality assurance auditing, and Lean Six Sigma process improvement projects. This position provides a unique view on how direct patient care processes affect hospital reimbursement and opportunities for excellence awards and designations. This Co-op position will not have direct patient contact but will be exposed to sensitive data and is, therefore, required to adhere to HIPAA standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Complete quality data entry as needed by the department
Assist with validation/proofing dashboards and data presentations.
Collect, organize, and present data in MS Excel, Visio, and/or PowerPoint
Edit training modules and assist in training session preparation.
Participate in quality and regulatory tracer rounds
Assist with creation of auditing tools using platforms such as REDCap.
Assist with meeting agenda development, taking or transcribing meeting minutes, and action item reminders.
Complete documentation audits
Participates in Special Projects
Perform other tasks in support of department initiatives:
Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Education or Equivalent Experience:
HS Diploma (Required)
Enrolled in Drexel's Co-Op Program (Required)

WHAT WE DO The Cohen Clinic at Penn provides confidential evidence-based mental health care for veterans and their families -- at no cost and with no long waits. WHO WE SERVE We serve post-9/11 veterans -- including those from the National Guard and Reserves -- regardless of discharge status,... role in uniform, or combat experience. When we have the capacity, we can serve pre-9/11 veterans. We also serve family members including veteran family members and military families (National Guard, Reserves, active duty). We are not able to provide individual therapy services to active duty service members at this time. However, we can and do work with current members members of the National Guard and Reserves. Family members include parents, spouses/partners, children, siblings, caregivers, and others affected by the individual's military service.
