Department: PMPH Princeton House Behavioral Health
Location: North Brunswick, NJ
Hours: Monday through Friday 08:30AM-5:00PM

Position Summary: Department Secretary will provide reception, clerical, and data entry services for the program.
Job Duty/Responsibilities:
Answer telephones in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Direct calls to proper staff or areas.
Take messages accurately and relay messages promptly.
Greet patients and visitors, ascertain needs, and respond appropriately as directed by policy and procedures.
Accurately post charges for all outpatient services in appropriate systems.
Maintain files in accordance with department procedure.
Prepare copy work for various departments when requested.
Transcribe and type documents, reports, memos, and correspondence as directed.
Sort and distribute all mail accurately on a daily basis.
Manage and order office supplies as needed. Maintain office equipment, calling for repairs when necessary.
Provide cross-coverage, as necessary, for benefit verification and patient registration.
Cover for senior secretary in her/his absence.
Support customer service and performance improvement goals of the department; collaborate with other caregivers/staff, within and outside the department, to develop means of enhancing patient care and service.
Maintain standards of confidentiality.
Participate in unit compliance as related to established standards.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Required Skills:
Computer Competency- Ability to use computer for purposes of documentation of services, maintenance of folders on personal drive, access to clinical forms and policies from shared drives, and electronic communication.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and professionalism essential.
A customer service orientation, a teamwork approach, flexibility, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Experience:
Required: Previous experience in a secretarial and/or reception duties
Preferred: Experience in a healthcare setting

WHAT WE DO The Cohen Clinic at Penn provides confidential evidence-based mental health care for veterans and their families -- at no cost and with no long waits. WHO WE SERVE We serve post-9/11 veterans -- including those from the National Guard and Reserves -- regardless of discharge status,... role in uniform, or combat experience. When we have the capacity, we can serve pre-9/11 veterans. We also serve family members including veteran family members and military families (National Guard, Reserves, active duty). We are not able to provide individual therapy services to active duty service members at this time. However, we can and do work with current members members of the National Guard and Reserves. Family members include parents, spouses/partners, children, siblings, caregivers, and others affected by the individual's military service.
