Description

The Landscaper/Groundskeeper is responsible for performing exterior landscaping/grounds keeping in various company owned and/or managed properties.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining landscape design, removing weeds/dead plant material, applying fertilizers, and overseeing the general maintenance of the grounds at each property. This position is responsible for inspecting the cleanliness and appearance of the properties, including parking lots, and maintaining them in optimal condition.

The ideal candidate must have experience with landscape equipment and have a good understanding of plant material, general landscaping, and some pest management knowledge, must be organized and be able to manage their time efficiently.

This position involves driving to different locations in a company provided vehicle, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform grounds keeping duties such as cleaning walkways and parking lots.
• Mow lawns using a push mower and/or riding mower.
• Trim and edge around walkways, flower beds, and walls.
• Trim overgrown limbs, hedges and leaves to ensure the area looks clean, and well maintained. 
• Blow off parking lots each morning using gas powered blower.
• Plant new flowers, trees, and shrubs when necessary.
• Landscape duties such as mulching, trimming bushes, etc..
• Lawncare duties such as cutting grass, weed control, etc..
• Remove debris from vacant lots and keep them clean and clear. 
• Remove dead plant material and fallen branches from properties.
• Inspect for broken sprinkler heads.
• Maintain areas of responsibility in a clean and orderly manner.
• Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
• Adhere to policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand and to follow written and verbal directions.
• Communicate and interact with others in a professional, responsible, cooperative, and positive manner. 
• Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Florida driver license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to follow safety procedures.
• Proven work experience as a landscaper and/or groundskeeper.
• Must be able to safely operate landscape equipment including, but not limited to lawnmowers, leaf blowers and hedge trimmers.
• Must be able to work well with others, have good self-motivational skills and a positive attitude, job reliability, time management, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail.
• Typical physical demands may include but are not limited to lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, exposure to high noise level, outdoor weather conditions, and/or extended sitting, walking and/or standing periods. This role also requires wearing a uniform and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
