Penn E&R is Hiring a Drone/Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Services Manager Near Pittsburgh, PA

Penn E&R is headquartered in Doylestown, Pennsylvania with branch offices across the mid-Atlantic region. Penn E&R is seeking a full-time Drone/UAV Services Manager to report to one of our offices in Doylestown, Pittsburgh, or Mansfield, PA. This is an outstanding opportunity for a mid-senior level individual with an interest in UAV services to support the continued growth of Penn E&R's expanding operations in the mid-Atlantic U.S. As a UAV Services Manager you will have the opportunity to:
Use your proven experience in designing, contracting, self-performing and safely/successfully implementing various types of UAV projects with an independent aptitude.
Maintain a practical and growing working body of UAV knowledge in a rapidly advancing industry.
Support building backlog via working with Penn E&R’s leadership, existing surveying practice and project managers to present/demonstrate technical UAV benefits to various audiences, internal and external to Penn E&R.
Lead a UAV practice which meets clientele needs while complying with governing regulations including FAA part 107, applicable Mid-Atlantic state statutes and local airport/utility/infrastructure jurisdictions.
Work with or travel to Penn E&R’s Doylestown, Pittsburgh and Mansfield, PA Offices.
Advance the development of other Penn E&R UAV pilots and a growing UAV practice at Penn E&R’s PA offices.
Collaborate with other Penn E&R regional office leads to market Penn E&R’s licensed surveying and UAV services.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor of Science degree in a related field
Applicable certifications including FAA UAV pilot’s license
3-5 years of applicable experience
High-quality technical writing and communication skills
Considers health and safety (H&S) a core value
Working knowledge of necessary aerial equipment; software, data management platforms and client submittals
Demonstrated ability to operate cameras and various UAV sensor packages, and ability to troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions associated with UAV systems
Ability to professionally interact with clients, the public, contractors, regulators and other employees
Ability to work in a team and maintain attention to detail
Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation and initiative
Ability to nimbly use/read electronic mapping applications/maps and, navigate to coordinates and provide directions outside of cell phone service areas
Proficient in using the most current software including UAV and related programs, Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
