REPORTS TO: Purchasing/Warehouse Director / Director of Food Service
SUMMARY: The job of Warehouse/Delivery Worker is done for the purpose(s) of ensuring availability of supplies and equipment; transporting orders over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles; and loading and unloading orders.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Job-related experience
  • Social Security Card
  • Proof of immunity to Measles and German Measles
  • Valid picture ID
  • Fingerprint/background clearance (upon employment)
Such alternatives to the above required & preferred qualifications as the Superintendent/Designee may find appropriate and acceptable
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Drives vehicles for the purpose of transporting orders to designated sites
  • Loads items onto vehicles (e.g. supplies, equipment, etc.) for the purpose of filling orders
  • Maintains vehicles (e.g. fuel, oil, water, tires, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle
  • Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information
  • Receives orders (e.g. supplies, equipment, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability to users within the District
  • Stocks items for the purpose of ensuring adequate inventory and availability of items as may be required
  • Unloads items from vehicles (e.g. supplies, equipment, etc.) for the purpose of distributing shipment to appropriate assigned site and/or building inventory
  • Verifies orders and quality of materials received for the purpose of ensuring that orders are properly filled by vendors and that specifications are met
  • Assists other warehouse personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
  • Perform such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent/Designee
Skills, Knowledge And AbilitiesSkills are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: utilizing equipment used in profession, adhering to safety practices.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents and speak clearly; and understand multi-step oral and written instructions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws.
Ability is required to schedule activities, gather, collate and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. In working with others, independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; communicating with diverse groups; and meeting deadlines and schedules.
ResponsibilityResponsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others; and monitoring budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job’s functions. There is some opportunity to impact the Organization’s services.
Work EnvironmentThe usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; significant climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant fine-finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 80% walking and 10% standing. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
