Job Description:
Pen Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Operations to oversee and enhance the efficiency of our production, supply chain, engineering, quality control, and related departments. This role goes beyond the traditional responsibilities of a Production Manager, requiring a hands-on approach, strong technology background, and the ability to drive operational excellence in an entrepreneurial environment.

Operations Leadership:
Oversee and optimize day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of products.
Take charge of the production, supply chain, engineering, and quality teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Portfolio Company Support:
Collaborate with other portfolio companies within the organization, providing operational expertise and support as needed.
Assist in the transition and integration of acquisitions, leveraging hands-on experience to drive successful outcomes.

Technology Integration:
Utilize a strong technology background, with IT experience being a strong plus, to enhance operational processes and systems.
Work closely with the IT department to implement and optimize technologies that improve overall operational efficiency.

Reliability and Urgency:
Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and reliability in meeting operational goals and deadlines.
Respond swiftly to challenges and proactively implement solutions to keep operations running smoothly.

Project Management:
Utilize project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor key operational initiatives.
Ensure projects are completed within scope, on time, and within budget.

Data-Driven Decision-Making:
Leverage operations tools, including our ERP system and Asana, to gather and analyze data.
Provide valuable insights and reports to the Director of Ops, contributing to data-driven decision-making processes.Budget Oversight: Collaborate with the finance department to manage the production budget effectively, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability in sheet metal fabrication & machining once leaders set budget.

Tough, disciplined, and highly motivated individual with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
Strong technology background, with IT experience considered a significant advantage.
Demonstrated leadership in managing and improving operations in a manufacturing environment.
Proven project management skills with a track record of successful implementation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and adaptability.
Highly data-driven, utilizing tools to extract actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Willingness to get hands dirty and actively participate in the transition of acquisitions.
MBA is a plus but not required.

Location and Availability: Candidate MUST reside between Los Angeles and San Diego, ideally near the companies in Anaheim. Must be ready to work 60 hours or more per week.
