Pen Bay Medical Center is Hiring a Supervisor, Behavioral Health Clinician (LCSW, LCPC) Near Rockport, ME

Maine state licensure to practice as a LCSW, LCPC is required

Seeking an individual to be a clinical supervisor supporting the integrated behavioral health clinicians within the Pen Bay Medical Center. This position would work directly under the program manager responsible for the team in the Pen Bay practices and in close coordination with the practice managers.

The supervisor will provide clinical supervision and oversight to the clinicians, will complete performance reviews and support optimal utilization of the clinicians while focusing on access to care and quality of care. The person in this role will work to foster engagement of team members, support the practice in implementation of integrated services and problem solve any operational issues that may arise, and will participate in the development of the quarterly trainings for the program. This position is an add on to a clinical role where the individual will be providing integrated behavioral health services within a practice. As part of this role you will receive the benefits of being an integrated provider while also benefiting from part of the management team where we provide collegial peer support, try to have fun, and focus on a healthy environment for all.

Position Summary

Behavioral Health Clinician: This position will be a generalist Master's Level mental health Clinician with interest, training and/or experience integrating behavioral health services into the primary care setting. This position will be placed in primary/specialty care practices, work with adults, families and children; and provide assessment, screening, and focused individual & group treatment. Additional roles include offering referral services, consulting with providers, and participating in any population health activity identified by the practice. Collaboration with psychiatry and other behavioral health providers in the community is included.

Clinical Supervisor: This position will be responsible for staff supervision, performance evaluations, policy and regulation compliance, and clinical development functions connected to the Behavioral Health Integration program.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: N/A
  • License/Certifications: Licensure by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred, or licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Must have a valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience: 2 years of work experience in a health or mental health setting in order to have proficiency in psychosocial assessment and treatment. 2 years or more of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of social work theories, therapies and techniques, as used in individual, family and group treatment, as well as principles of social welfare. Ability to teach basic social work principles and applications to the medical setting
  • Must have considerable knowledge of community resources and agencies and how to use them in resolving complex problems related to health, illness and disability
