PEMEX Deer Park is Hiring an IT Data / Data Warehouse Lead Near Deer Park, TX

The IT Data / Data Warehouse Lead will support the Director of Information Technology and the site to drive the overall Data agenda at Pemex Deer Park. Data is key to digital transformation and the IT Data / Data Warehouse Lead will play a key role in this transformation. The scope of the role includes growing our Data Warehouse capability and environment at site. This role will also act as first point of contact for the DIY (Do It Yourself) Developers, guiding them throughout their DIY journey. This person is also a link between the business and IT teams, coaching the DIY Developers and helping them learn the tools, standards, and best practices of this new capability. This role will also help establish a local community at site to gain the most value from data by providing upskilling opportunities, and a channel for cross-department sharing. The successful candidate must seek to understand the Refinery business, its products & services, as DIY capability is largely use-case driven and usually starts with ‘what problem are you trying to solve?’. Commercial mindset will be key in this role.Stakeholder Management

Leads business stakeholder engagements with the DIY community (could range from junior staff to asset leadership).
Actively participates in business and IT team discussions, bringing in best practices to and from site.

Value Generation & Protection

Maintain & support current Data Warehouse environment and seek to enhance through the creation of a Data Warehouse growth strategy.
Deliver Data & Analytics knowledge sessions at Deer Park to educate staff on the data lifecycle – how data is created, used, measured, managed, retired.
Educate staff on how to gain more value from effective use of Data Visualisation and Analytics tools as well as highlighting existing data analytics and data quality solutions.
Identify and address hurdles to access data.
Participate and support the “site – data driven” concept by advising, guiding and supporting site developers to build optimal solutions on the MS Power Apps Suite. Help define a Data strategy – providing tool consultancy as well as education on publishing/IT processes and IRM-compliant data access.
Deliver prototypes in support of Data & Analytics Ideation – facilitate bringing together data sets from disparate sources, cleaning, merging and consolidating for PoC purposes – identify and expand current Data Warehouse capability to support this.
Identify legacy products (e.g. MS Access, Excel), which would benefit from redevelopment on the Power Platform and, where applicable, full transition to IT, as they have become critical/important to the site. Work with IT Business Analysts and Business Application Owners to highlight the opportunity to make these solutions more robust, intuitive, automated and secure.
Contribute and support the implementation of a Data Strategy – e.g. by defining and expediting data quality improvement initiatives - how to best organize / who to engage / which tools to use.

Business Intelligence & Innovation

Bring in external ideas, setup and manage an eco-system for Digitalization for the Refinery and create purposeful partnerships that drive outcomes.
Has solid understanding of the Refinery business and Oil and Gas landscape, with regards to trends, technology and industry standards.
Delivers thought leadership and contributes to business decisions through strong relationships, and business and IT understanding.
Ensures that new technologies deployed are supported by thorough change management to make the business ready to adopt to the full potential.
Dimensions
Be a key member of the IT team at site.
Will support the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager and IT Enterprise Digital Solutions Manager in implementing a Data strategy.
Will be the single data coach for all users at site: ~1200

Skills and Experience Required

Deep functional understanding of industry citizen development standards.
Deep understanding of data platforms used in a Refinery or Oil & Gas industry.
Understanding of key ‘data pain points’ in regular business experiences
Proficiency in application development and data visualization – proven experience with the Power Suite (PowerBI, PowerApps, MS Dynamics, Flow) or equivalent tools
Python, SQL service maintenance
Information Management knowledge
Strong communication skills, among IT, digital and business stakeholders
