JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineer II
REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager

OVERVIEWThe Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for designing and sustaining for the Mobile and Industrial Safety product lines, including wireless communication equipment, fiber splicing vehicles, fall arrest/rescue and retrieval equipment, ventilation, manhole support, and work tents.

This position has limited supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in an office and indoor plant setting, although outdoor work may be necessary from time to time, based upon project scope.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, climb in and out of vehicles, talk and hear.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work while in the office are Monday through Friday, 7:30AM a.m. to 4:00PM, with a half hour lunch.
TRAVEL
Some travel to industry tradeshows and events, customer site visits, vendor partners and other travel may be required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, LANGUAGE, AND EXPERIENCE
3-5 years experience in a similar field/manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent discipline is required. A valid driver's license and a clean MVR is preferred. Ability to pass a post-offer background check.
