Pelham Parkway Dental Assoc is Hiring a Part Time Dental Receptionist Near Bronx, NY

A busy dental practice is looking to hire a personable Dental Receptionist to ensure that dental patients’ appointments are appropriately
scheduled, rescheduled or canceled, depending on the needs of the patients. Days are Mondays (9:00am - 2:00pm), Tuesdays (8:30am-6:00pm), Thursdays (8:30am-6:00pm), Saturdays (8:30am-2:00pm). During July and August the office is closed on Saturdays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of experience
Knowledge of Dentrix is a MUST
Prior work experience with insurance plans and claims processing
Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures and diagnosis
Proven experience working in a dental office
Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
Good telephone etiquette
Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple tasks
Flexibility to support change, with varying schedules as necessary
Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
Must be a strategic thinker and proactive problem-solver
Exemplifies the highest ethical standards
Can work independently with little supervision
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice
Entering patient information onto our data system, answering patients’ questions, and arranging referrals to other dental specialists
Assisting patients in filling out information forms
Preparing patients’ charts and daily schedules for the dental staff
Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures
Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders
Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed
Verifying patients' dental insurance
Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing and faxing
