Customs House Brokerage firm with emphasis for Food commodities, in Glendale , CA seeking entry level data entry clerk or entry writers with 1-2 years of experience

For individuals with no experience, Job duties will include:

- Entering data for importations of shipments and transmission to government agencies (Customs, FDA, etc)

- Following up with various supply chain entities such as steam ship lines, truckers, forwarding agents, terminals, etc.

- Clerical duties include but not limited to: filing, answering phones, creating Fedex labels, etc.

- Training will be provided

For individuals with 1-2 year experience, Job duties will include:

- Entering data for importations of shipments and transmission to government agencies (Customs, FDA, APHIS, SIMP, LACEY, etc)

- Reviewing import documentation, filing ISF, classification (HTS and FDA)

- Following up with Customs/FDA and various supply chain entities such as steamship lines, terminals, exam sites for timely clearance of cargo.

- Clerical duties include but not limited to: filing, answering phones, creating Fedex labels, etc.

- Training will be provided for ABI software (Descartes Oneview)

- Salary negotiated will be based on experience

Qualifications:

- College degree preferred

- For those applying with experience: Knowledge of ABI/Manifest related comprehension; Exam procedures (both Customs and FDA) at various major U.S Ports; FDA knowledge(for food products in particular); Classification (HTS/FDA).

- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook; Web browsers (IE,Chrome, etc)

- Must be quick and accurate in typing

- Must be detail oriented, organized, able to multitask well and prioritize their work.

- Chinese (Mandarin) speaking a plus, but not mandatory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
