PeerSource Oncology is currently recruiting for a Medical Physicist on a 13-week locum travel assignment in Georgia, starting sometime before May 6, 2024.

Summary

As a premier locum staffing firm, PeerSource Oncology is dedicated to matching highly skilled Medical Physicists with rewarding travel assignments. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of radiation therapy treatments across our facilities. Our equipment ranges from Varian TrueBeam to Cyberknife, and experience with the latter is advantageous. Familiarity with GammaMed HDR treatments GYN, Eclipse treatment planning, and Aria Record and Verify systems is also desirable. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of treatments including 3D, IMRT, SRS, SBRT, and VMAT, with Portal Dosimetry being a key tool. With our team treating approximately 30-35 patients per day, your contributions will be vital to our operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to advance your professional skills in diverse settings, alongside 2 other full-time physicists and 1 PRN physicist, and engage in special techniques like HDR, SRS, and SBRT.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Medical Physicist in a clinical setting.
• Current or ability to obtain a valid Medical Physicist license in the state of Georgia.
• Proficiency in calibration and quality assurance of radiation therapy equipment, particularly Varian TrueBeam and Varian Bravos.
• Expertise in utilizing software like Eclipse, Aria, MIM, Limbus, Sun Nuclear Software package, DoseLab, and BrachyVision for patient management and treatment planning.
• Familiarity with a wide range of radiation therapy techniques, including IMRT, SBRT, VMAT, and brachytherapy.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest advancements in medical physics.
• Exceptional understanding of radiation safety principles and guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with oncology teams, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
