Description

  • Timely maintains medical record filing, retrieval, and maintenance

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organizes and monitors office operations and procedures such as bookkeeping preparation of payrolls, personnel, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies, and other clerical services.
  • Maximizes office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software application.
  • Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
  • Establishes uniform correspondence practices and procedures.
  • Formulates procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.
  • Plan office layout, develops office budget, and initiates cost reduction programs.
  • Reviews clerical and personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Maintains contact with customers and outside vendors.
  • Performs other related duties requested or assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of courses in medical records, computers, work processing, and typing helpful.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires filing, sitting and standing for long periods of time.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, stretching, or moving items.
  • Maintains proper body mechanics when filing, distributing to avoid injury.
  • Ability to handle files, operate a copier, fax, hold punch, computer, and other office equipment as necessary.
  • Possess the ability to respond to telephone/email contacts and distinguish colors.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a fast-paced, well lit, comfort controlled medical office
  • File room is your personal working space, can be confining.
  • Interaction with others may be interruptive.
  • Work may, at times, be stressful.
  • Occasional irregular hours.
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
  • Moderate noise level.
