Pediatric Specialty Care is Hiring a Transport LPN (Pediatrics) Near Danville, PA

Overview

The Transport LPN is responsible for planning, organizing and assisting with transport of assigned individuals to and from their homes. This individual ensures the general health and well-being of individuals by providing direct nursing care throughout transport. Direct nursing care of the children encompasses planning, developing, organizing, implementing assessing, and evaluating the care of individuals to ensure that the highest degree of quality care and regulatory compliance is maintained at all times. Within the LPN’s scope of practice, this individual also monitors performance of non-licensed personnel and assists in modifying treatment regimens to meet the physical, psychosocial and developmental needs of the individual in accordance with established nursing practices and the requirements of the policies and procedures of the organization in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility.

Responsibilities

Day-to-Day tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the transport of our children to to and from their homes.
  • Screen and provide an in-depth evaluation of the needs of ventilator & respiratory clients
  • Consult with the attending physician regarding treatment protocol and make written recommendations for interdisciplinary care planning and treatment
  • Identify problems and develop a complete plan of care according to facility/unit policy and federal/state regulations
  • Initiate ventilator weaning protocol and/or respiratory rehabilitation in accordance with the physician’s orders; maintain required contact with physician
  • Maintain written records, evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries of residents receiving respiratory treatment and monitoring according to state, federal, and facility policies
  • Record resident’s plan of care in the Interdisciplinary Care Plan as required or as needed
  • Contribute to the completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) within the established time frame and incorporate the results in the plan of care when appropriate

Qualifications

  • Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current state license in good standing for the state in which work is performed
  • Valid, current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Training and work experience in a pediatric setting preferred
