• Position: Compliance Documentation Specialist
• Location: Remote
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

THE POSITION

We are looking for a full-time Compliance Documentation Specialist to join our patient focused, supportive team. As a part of the Compliance Department you will be responsible for compiling medical records of patients and assists with responsibilities related to the PHS Compliance Audit Program. You’ll find yourself challenged and required to use critical thinking every day but you will also be surrounded by a close-knit and supportive group who has the same dedication to serving medically fragile children and their families.

• Compiles requested medical and billing records accurately and efficiently to meet project deadlines
• Assists with uploading of records as directed
• Ensures medical records are complete and accurate per regulatory and company standards
• Audits records and prepares reports on inaccuracies
• Researches records to locate data as requested
• Maintains and utilizes a variety of health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems
• Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve health information
• Assists in identification of medical records needed for research using both manual and computer indexes
• Assists Compliance Department in special studies or research
• Maintains audit tracking database

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of database software; spreadsheet software and word processing software preferred.
• Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills.
