Pecos Pit BBQ is seeking a a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team Part-Time. The primary focus of this role will be to conduct a thorough historical review and cleanup of our existing financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. This position offers the opportunity to work independently, contributing to the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.

Responsibilities:

• Historical Review: Conduct a focused review of our existing financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and general ledgers.
• Identification of Discrepancies: Identify and investigate discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies in the financial data.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information.
• Data Cleanup: Clean up and organize financial data, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other documentation.
• Documentation: Prepare clear and concise documentation of findings, adjustments, and recommendations for improving record-keeping processes.
• Communication: Collaborate with team members to communicate findings and address any questions or concerns.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial record-keeping procedures.

Requirements:

• Formal Education in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with financial analysis, reconciliation, and data cleanup.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information..

Job Type: Part-time, Hourly

Hours typically Monday through Friday, yet flexible. Hybrid work available, with full schedule flexibility, weekly meetings and working sessions in-office attendance required.
