Essential Functions of Position

• Review and complete department Safety, Production and Quality reports daily
• Confirm paw product leaving department is accurately weighed and is ready for shipping department to receive for loading on trucks and shipping to customers
• Confirm raw poultry meets HACCP and GMP standards as it enters cold water chilling system.
• Confirm raw poultry savage meets HACCP and GMP standards as it leaves area for further processing.
• Comply with written plant policies.
• Ensures that supervisors are monitoring attendance and behavior of employees and acting as needed in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies
• Ensure employees and supervisors are following the written specification for packaging and labeling of products.
• Coordinate orders with production demands and supply.
• Physically inspect products for both naturally occurring and processing defects.
  • Naturally occurring defects would include but not limited to deformity, bruising in excess, infection, discoloration, and abscess
  • Processing defects would include but not limited to foreign material bones, extraneous material, feathers, broken miscuts, etc.
• React appropriately to any reports of suspicious or abnormal situations from employees and management.

Abnormal situation would be:

• Product tampering
• Willful product adulteration
• Unauthorized employees in restricted areas
• Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake

Job Qualifications

• 3-5 years leadership experience in 1^st processing preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Poultry Science, Food Science, Management or related industry experience
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified constraints
• Ability to create and maintain a safe work environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing
• Repetitive use of hands
• Must have the ability to bend, stoop and climb steps in organic conditions

Work Environment

• Must be able to withstand hot, cold, and wet environments

Position Type and Hours

• Full time night position
• May require off-shift and weekend work
