Job Summary:

The Swimming Instructor teaches private and group swim lessons in accordance with the guidelines of the Red Cross Water Safety Instruction (WSI) certification.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teach private and group swim lessons in accordance with the guidelines of Red Cross Water Safety Instruction (WSI) certification.
• Ensure safety of participants during class.
• Maintain teaching tools and store neatly.
• Take an accurate class rollcall daily and keep records; forward attendance records to desk staff.
• Maintain necessary certifications in order to teach and perform CPR.
• Schedule group lessons at convenient times.
• Plan age appropriate activities for each session.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
• Knows, models and integrates Pebble Beach Company culture (mission, values, and standards).
• Comply with the Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

• Excellent teaching, communication and swimming skills required.
• Some experience teaching swimming required.
• CPR and Water Safety Instructor certifications required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required, and some college preferred.
