Job Summary:

The Finance Manager will assist the Associate Director of Finance in completing a variety of financial, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly financial performance of multiple resort departments (F&B, rooms, golf, retail, real estate, sales, etc.) and assist operations in analyzing data.
  • Create cross-linked spreadsheets that are flexible to a multitude of scenarios and updates. Should be created in a format that facilitates review and analysis.
  • Use existing systems (accounting – Great Plains; reporting – Management Reporter) or MS Excel to create reports useful to making sound business decisions and assist in analysis.
  • Understand business processes and data flow from initial check creation to profit and loss reporting for each department to aid in analysis.
  • Prepare and/or review and issue reports daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Prepare Company level weekly revenue estimates.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual census reports for the US Census Bureau.
  • Gather information from operational managers and front-line staff to support assumptions made in the analytical process.
  • Handle a multitude of projects of varying disciplines; must be able to manage time and prioritize tasks based upon direction from superiors.
  • Clearly document support for assumptions made to facilitate review of completed work.
  • Present analyses in a clear and concise matter to communicate conclusions/issues to superiors.
  • Complete various month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets for various departments.
  • Assist in analyzing new business opportunities and proposed future ventures as they become known.
  • Special event participation including cash handling, supervision of temporary employees (time/attendance and alcohol rules compliance), etc.
  • Manage, supervise, and develop Finance Analyst.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Desired Skills:

  • College degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 2-5 years of experience working in finance / accounting or hospitality.
  • Must be able to work in an accurate, organized, and efficient manner. High level of attention to detail and good communication skills required.
  • Analytical thinker who can clearly articulate his/her views in a concise manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn accounting, budgeting, reporting, and operations systems such as SMS (Springer Miller), Point of Sale (Retail), IG (Info Genesis), Amadeus/Salesforce and DataVision, in relatively short timeframe.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work weekends when required.
  • Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
