Position Summary and Responsibilities

Tennessee Connections Academy is looking for a Student Data Management Specialist to join our dynamic office team. Working from our office in White House, TN, the Student Data Management Specialist will be responsible for updating, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting student data within the Learning Management and Student Information Systems. The ideal candidate will work well independently as well as in a team environment. This person will be computer savvy, have a keen eye for detail, and be able to handle multiple interruptions in a day while meeting required deadlines. The candidate will report and work directly with the office manager and the authorizing school district to ensure clean and accurate student data. This position requires confidentiality to the highest degree and protection of student and staff PII (Personal Identifiable Information) will be strictly monitored.

Responsibilities:

• Update and maintain accurate enrollment and student demographics
• Foster a collaborative relationship with Johnson County School district and communicate proactively and regularly with district personnel to resolve student data discrepancies.
• Communicate with other districts to resolve student data discrepancies, such as duplicate or overlapping enrollments.
• Acquire and verify data from primary data sources and organize and maintain educational data within the Student Information System
• Provide checks and balances to ensure organizational fidelity to data collection systems
• Process improvements in student data flow from Learning Management System to Student Information System.
• Build spreadsheets and convert to upload files for the state reporting system
• Investigate and correct errors returned by the state reporting system
• Data management of secondary sources
• Work closely with administrative staff and leadership to ensure correct enrollment and withdrawal dates are reported.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education and/or data science, information management, or comparable field
• Prior State Reporting experience preferred
• Experience with the SKYWARD SIS portal preferred
• Experience with ITN EIS system preferred
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, time management, and organizational skills
• Must be able to multi-task in a busy and fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to work independently
• Quick to learn, understand, and interpret new rules and regulations
• Proficiency in working with spreadsheets and Google Suite
• Demonstrate high levels of professionalism in interacting with faculty, staff, and executive team
• Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines while processing large volumes of sensitive data with a high rate of accuracy
• As needed, travel to the Johnson County School District Office in Mountain City, TN for training and/or professional development.
