Pearson is Hiring a Remote Product Manager, Career Education

Position Summary:

Working from a home-based position, the Career Program Product Manager, is responsible for identifying, organizing, and communicating the curriculum requirements of the Pearson Virtual Schools Career Readiness Education program. This role will report to and work closely with the Director of Career Program Product Management.

Pearson Virtual Schools operate across 40 states, each with unique Career Readiness Education requirements; this role is expected to align both Pearson and third-party curriculum to each state’s requirements. This role will play an influential role in selecting and managing curriculum and content, course catalog management, state approvals, customization requests, and enhancements to optimize the PVS learning experience. This individual partners with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to third-party curriculum vendors, Content Development, Product Marketing, Software Engineering, Sales, and school facing support teams to leverage the strength of the Pearson portfolio to maximize value to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of career program curriculum and related offerings
  • Manage the course alignment process through the creation of supporting documentation
  • Assists in creation and/or submission of Career and Technical Education (CTE) program approval documentation as needed by individual schools or states
  • Assists planning and execution of a strategic program, curriculum, and product development roadmap for the PVS Career Education product
  • Demonstrate knowledge of state and national standards for Career Readiness Education
  • Works closely with school leaders from PVS Partner Schools to recommend career course pathways that align with state requirements
  • Consults with school development teams on curricular recommendations needed to support RFP requests and/or creation of program applications
  • Assists in developing an extensive awareness of the career program’s products’ strengths and weaknesses relative to educational trends, market opportunities, and efficacy, and recommends adjustments to product strategies
  • Serves as an expert on career program curriculum products, working with marketing, sales, and implementation teams
  • Collaborates on customer-facing projects including training materials, pilot support, customer conversations and sales meetings
  • Build strong relationships and operate effectively across the organization to achieve results

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (education, product management, or business background preferred)
  • At least 3 years of experience in education, with at least one year of experience in virtual learning preferred
  • 1-3 years of Product or Curriculum Management experience
  • High degree of personal ownership and accountability to consistently deliver results in a fast-paced and high-profile environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills; demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Passionate about education and the role of Pearson in improving student learning

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The minimum full-time salary range is between $80,000 - $90,000.
