Pearl River Resort is Hiring a GUEST ROOM ATTENDANT Near Choctaw, MS
Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to… Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.
Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.
Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.
- Vacuums, sweeps, scrubs, mop, and cleans carpet and flooring in guest rooms.
- Dusts, brushes, polishes, cleans and vacuums furniture, glass, mirrors, curtains, framed pictures, appliances and other structural fixtures and furnishings in guest rooms.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Scrubs, disinfects and deodorizes showers, toilets, wash basins, and other bathroom and vanity fixtures.
- Removes trash and debris from guest rooms.
- Strips beds, collects dirty linens, and makes beds with fresh linens.
- Replenishes linens, amenities and other supplies in guest rooms.
- Reports items found in guest rooms to Supervisor and/or properly tags lost and found items and delivers them to the Housekeeping Office, for storage.
- Routinely inspects guest rooms for maintenance needs, such as burnt-out light bulbs, plumbing or electrical problems, carpentry needs, or other special problems, and reports same to the Housekeeping Office, for proper resolution.
- Takes responsibility for a “Pass Key” during assigned shift, turning it in at the end of the shift to the Key Watch.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

AGE and GAMING18 years of age or above
Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or GED is preferred. One (1) month of previous related experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence. Ability to write basic instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Essential responsibilities include moderate to heavy physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifty (50) to hundred (100) lbs., and standing/walking 100% of the shift. Perform position responsibilities and/or essential functions on slippery or wet surfaces. Work with hazardous chemicals while wearing latex, vinyl, or rubber gloves. Potential exposure to bodily fluids. Extensive bending, stooping and stretching of arms during assigned shift.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
