Pearl Housing Foundation is looking for single females to be live-in Resident Advisors (RA) for transitional home, benefiting young adults transitioning out of foster care. The home is to be a safe place for young women in need of mentorship and personal development in a critical time of life development.
The expectation is for the Resident Advisor to spend a large amount of their free time at the home to engage the girls as one of the family and to be a support. This position is for those who have a heart in developing life skills and spiritual growth for our girls.
Responsibilities of the Resident Advisor (RA):
- Provide assistance and support to residents staying in home. Residents may stay for as little as 3 months, up to 2 years.
-Foster healthy relationships among the girls.
-Lead the charge in caretaking of home. RA’s must keep home clean, modeling excellent living caretaking.
-Develop and delegate some chore responsibilities to residents.
-Hold residents accountable to curfews and additional house rules.
- Organize and facilitate a standing weekly, evening meeting for character and spiritual group development.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a safe and supportive environment.
- Plan and facilitate occasional social activities and outings for residents.
-Work cohesively with house directors in improving home environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in resident assistance or a related field is preferred.
-Social Work or Counseling degree preferred.
-Maturing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Knowledge or experience with foster care preferred.
-Experience with trauma techniques.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
