Position Summary: This position is a seasonal full-time position ending in August. Production Specialist play the role of mixing herbal formulas, filling our bottles and bags of herbs and food products, equipment washing and any production-related work. Candidates must be familiar with Ayurveda and how production manufacturing works.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Adhere to Banyan’s values and social and environmental responsibility principles
• Bagging and bottling powdered herbs and other products. Working within a sanitary environment, filling bags and bottles to accurate weight with powdered herbal supplements and food products.
• Preparing Formulas and Spice Mixes. Using a scale to measure the exact amount of each herb / item to be put into the formula and/or spice mixture.

• Cleaning Herb Production Rooms and oil production area. At the end of the day and when switching to another product, the rooms must be cleaned to a very high standard.

• Read and sign all applicable SOPs

• Read all relevant machine operation manuals, if applicable

• Follow all relevant OSHA and FDA regulations, if applicable

• Optional overtime as applicable

• Other duties as assigned

• Positive team player who is able to listen to direction and work effectively with others.
• Efficient. Must be efficient and comfortable with doing similar tasks every day.

• Good at Cleaning. Has a good eye and talent for cleaning thoroughly.

Qualifications:

• Math Skills. Must have good math skills to be able to measure and count accurately.
• Ability to be standing for up to 8 hours per day.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently moves, transports and positions boxes, pallets, bottles and bags of herbs, scales and related equipment and items up to 50lbs across the floor and warehouse.
• Constantly positions self and moves about the warehouse to access and work with herbs and related equipment, occasionally on uneven surfaces, constantly operates machinery, occasionally ascends/descends stairs and/or ladders, positions self and must be able to remain in a stationary position when required.
• Must be able to detect, inspect, identify operational function of equipment, discern, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, convey, converse with, express oneself and communicate with team members and exchange information with or without accommodation.
• Must be able to work around moderate noise level.

Pay: $16.50 per hour
