Peak Peaps is Hiring a Commercial Construction Estimator Near Richmond, VA
Peak is seeking an experienced estimator to join our close-knit team and help implement winning strategies for our company's growth. The ideal candidate will prepare bid packages, estimates, design development budgets, analyze subcontractor bids, and maintain current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors through various channels.
Responsibilities
- Review and thoroughly understand all RFP documents, drawings, and specifications required to build a complete estimate.
- Organize/conduct walk throughs coordinated with subcontractors to gather information on the existing conditions of a site.
- Consult with engineers, architects, owners, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions, changes and adjustments to cost estimates and resolve issues.
- Ensure that estimates comply with the requirements of the overall construction contract and are consistent with corporate guidelines.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Sciences, Engineering or related field experience
- LEED accreditation preferred
Experience & Technical Skills
- 2 - 5 years as a Construction Estimator
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS 365
- Experience with project scheduling software: MS Project, SureTrack, P6 or ProCore preferred
- Experience with BUILDR or other CRM preferred
- Experience with Sage, ProCore and ProEst preferred
- Experience with PEMB software and best practices
Soft Skills
- Positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
- Ability to work autonomously on estimates from the beginning to end of the bid process.
- Strong leadership, problem solving and teamwork skills.
Travel
- May be required.
- Must have a own transportation, valid driver’s license and be insurable per insurance company underwriting requirements.
Working Conditions
- Most of your time will be spent in the office developing estimates, but you will be required to be in the field for walk-throughs and meetings.
- Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of this role.

$70-90K Starting Salary, DOE
