Join our dedicated team at Peak Eye Care Missoula as an Optometry Assistant, where you will be the first point of contact for our valued patients. This role combines reception duties with technical pre-testing responsibilities, making it perfect for individuals who are adept at multitasking and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Reception Duties:

- Greet patients upon arrival, confirming and updating patient records as necessary.

- Efficiently manage appointment scheduling, including booking, confirming, and adjusting appointments as required.

- Process payments and handle billing inquiries with attention to detail.

- Provide general administrative support including answering phones, managing email correspondence, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.

Technical Duties:

- Conduct preliminary eye tests using pre-testing machines such as auto-refractors and tonometers.

- Prepare patients for their consultation by explaining procedures and answering questions to ensure their comfort.

- Maintain and sanitize all testing equipment and patient areas following each use to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; further certification in office management or medical administration is a plus.

- Proven experience in a receptionist role; experience in a medical or optometric office preferred.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen ability to manage patient inquiries and concerns with compassion and professionalism.

- Technical proficiency with office software and patient management systems; experience with optometry-specific software is an advantage.

- Ability to learn and operate medical diagnostic equipment with training.
