We are seeking a meticulous and efficient individual to join our team as a Payment Posting Specialist.

Job Overview :

The Payment Posting Specialist will be responsible for accurately posting insurance and patient payments into our billing system.

This role involves ensuring that payments are recorded promptly and accurately, reconciling accounts, and addressing any discrepancies.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Accurately post insurance and patient payments to appropriate accounts in the billing system.
• Reconcile posted payments with daily deposits and bank statements.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in payment postings and communicate with aging team members as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of all payment transactions and adjustments.
• Assist in month-end closing procedures by ensuring all payments are posted and accounted for.
• Collaborate with the billing department to streamline payment posting processes and improve efficiency.
• Generate and analyze reports related to payment postings and account reconciliations.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and insurance representatives regarding payment inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, including HIPAA.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.; Associate's or Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in payment posting, medical billing, or a related financial role in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and payment processing.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of medical billing codes, insurance claim processes, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with payment reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with insurance claim follow-up and denial management.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
