PEACHTREE CATERING is Hiring a Driver Near Radnor, PA

Position Summary :

Peachtree Catering, the premier catering company of Greater Philadelphia, seeks a driver and facilities worker to work events, load / unload delivery trucks, deliver products to various locations and set up in advance.

General cleaning skills are also required. You will be required to work weekends.

Our industry requires excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills. Candidates should be comfortable working all aspects of special events, including but not limited to : room / tent set up, truck loading / unloading, delivering product during events and venue clean-up.

Responsibilities

  • Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
  • Assist with loading and unloading vehicles
  • Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions
  • Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed
  • Communicate regular car service requirements to management and report any issues
  • Ensure that vehicles are always fueled and ready for use
  • Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of vehicles
  • Check bathrooms for restocking or any cleaning that needs to be done
  • Inspect the area outside the building for cigarette butts, trash, beer cans, used glasses from the previous event
  • Set up ceremony chairs if not done the day before
  • Check chair cushions in ballroom and replace any that are dirty
  • Wipe ceremony chairs 1 hour before guest arrival
  • Inspect interior and exterior lighting, making sure each bulb is working
  • Make sure there is plenty of wood for any firepits. Build and light fire pit as required.
  • If any furniture has been moved, make sure that there are no blemishes on the wall behind where it is typically placed.
  • Support in transporting of any larger decor items
  • Maintain an awareness of any cleanup or issues that may arise
  • Breakdown tables and chairs / flip space as needed for next event
  • Check all indoor and outdoor areas for glassware, dishes, and trash. Clean up as required
  • Vacuum respective areas
  • Take all trash to dumpsters
  • Sweep and organize dumpster area
  • Sweep any stray cigarette butts that did not make it into ashtrays
  • Turn off all lights inside and out and shut all windows
  • Lock all doors

Qualifications

  • At least one year of driving experience to perform the job safely
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A clean driving record
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20 / 50 (or corrected to 20 / 50)
  • Familiarity with GPS devices
  • Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • A polite and professional disposition
  • Time management and organizational skills to keep track of delivered and stay on schedule
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
