PeaceHealth is seeking a Inventory Control Tech for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Evening position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $16.58 – $32.37. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining control of all supply and equipment inventory for the department.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain and monitor inventory control system of supplies and/or equipment. This includes receiving, shelving, restocking and monitoring to assure no outdates.
  • Determine appropriate inventory levels based on policies and procedures.
  • Requisition, receive and replenish supplies/equipment when stock reaches designated order point or based on anticipated volumes.
  • Perform inventory control and asset management. May perform and document equipment checks as well as submitting work orders and follow up on repairs.
  • May also be responsible for the following: collaborating with clinical department are staff and management, as well as Materials Management staff and management to determine need for product or level changes; informing department staff of supply shortages and substitutions and assisting in problem-solving/action plan as needed for same; responding to stat requests as needed; facilitating annual inventory for assigned area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma Preferred: or equivalent

Experience

  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years experience in hospital materials management or inventory control using information technology

Credentials

  • May be required: Drivers License and auto insurance

Skills

  • Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required)
  • Good communication skills. (Required)
  • Excellent organizational skills. (Required)
  • Ability to prioritize, take responsibility and ownership. (Required)
  • Requires self-direction and ability to work with minimal supervision. (Required)

Department / Location Specific Notes

PHOR/PH St. Joes- Surgical Services:

  • Support patient needs for Main OR, GI-Endoscopy, SPA and other areas in Surgical Services as assigned.
  • Previous general office and/or health records experience preferred.
    Additional Essential functions:
  • May be required to data entry and review of OR cases to verify what supplies/equipment was used for billing purposes.
  • May be required to perform data validation to ensure the accuracy of PICIS and other applicable electronic records.
  • May be responsible for other general clerical/reception tasks.

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Buyer/Products Coord.: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
  • Central Supply Tech/Inventory Clerk: Ability to move around area. Frequent lifting up to 50lbs. Occasionally manipulating up to 100lbs. with assistance, to transport and stock assigned supplies and materials. Occasional bending, stooping, and climbing, reaching .

Environmental Conditions

  • Predominantly operates in an office or warehouse/supply room environment.

Mental/Visual

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
