At the core of its mission, Peace Rose is striving to create global citizens who are compassionate, empathetic, and unprejudiced. In all of our programs we emphasize lessons that are anti-racist, LGBTQIA inclusive, and teach cultural competency. We use developmentally appropriate books, lessons, and tools to teach these lessons to children of all ages.

Job Description

• Serve as the lead teacher in an Upper Elementary classroom of 15-25 students aged 9-12
• Use leadership skills, classroom management, team collaboration, and lesson planning to lead each student through their school year
• Provide lessons and work with Whole Child and Social Emotional Learning
• Help coordinate transitions and communications with special teachers
• Guide the academic and social development of students in accordance with AMS Montessori standards and Peace Rose curriculum within the three year cycle and course of study
• Create connections to engage students in the larger community through field trips, expert research, volunteerism, and local exploration
• Guide parents through parent-teacher conferences twice a year and provide progress reports twice a year and transcripts for students 5th grade and up
• Track student progress, take and upload photographs, create progress reports, and communicate with parents via Transparent Classroom
• Communicate with parents and teacher teams via email, google suite, slack, and other web based applications
• Occasionally transport students in a 15 passenger van

Job Requirements

• Upper Elementary Montessori Credential from a MACTE accredited program OR teachers who are currently in the process of receiving their Montessori credential from a MACTE accredited training program
• Experience working in an Upper Elementary Montessori classroom
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to transport students in a 15 passenger van
• Onsite training
• CPR certification
• Clear background check

Pay and Benefits

In an effort to be transparent our staff salaries are determined by a salary bracket that encourages training, education, and longevity with the school. Salaries are paid on a 10 month contract from September-June.

Full time teachers receive four weeks of time off during school closures plus an additional 82 hours of PTO. A full summary of benefits will be shared with teachers who are invited to interview.

Pay: $34,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
