Role Overview:

As an Avionics/Electrical Tech II, you will provide technical expertise in testing aircraft systems, troubleshooting, and repairing system discrepancies. You will ensure the quality and efficiency of all installations and demonstrate technical expertise by implementing process changes to reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising safety or quality.

Essential Functions:

1. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.

2. System Installation and Testing: Perform installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems on aircraft per engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals.

3. Quality Assurance: Troubleshoot processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.

4. Repair Techniques: Effectively repair or replace defective components and wiring to ensure installations meet conformity using acceptable practices such as splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.

5. Engineering Compliance: Perform and comply with engineering changes and modifications as required.

Additional Functions:

• Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, which may include flight tests as required.

Other Requirements:

• Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, and environmental controls.

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work in confined areas, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Four (4) years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years of related experience.

• A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license, FCC license, and NCATT certification preferred.
