Overview:
PDQ Staffing is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Technician to join our team. The client specializes in high production pavement texturing service for the transportation industry, utilizing a large fleet of 1,000 horsepower bi-directional shot blast machines, ultra- high pressure water technology, application trucks with automated applicator and Hydrotimers.
As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as brakes, shocks, struts, and exhaust systems
- Conduct diagnostic tests using specialized equipment to identify problems
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed for repairs or modifications
- Perform equipment repairs on various types of machinery including tractors, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Ensure all repairs are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns and inquiries
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel engines and systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Experience with brake repair, equipment repair, and fabrication is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented approach
