POSITION SUMMARY
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy (PCOM-SOP) is dedicated to developing leaders in pharmacy through an engaging and immersive learning environment supported by academic departments holding a commitment to innovative research, teaching, and professional and community service.
The PCOM-SOP invites applications from highly motivated candidates for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice with a specialized practice area in Internal Medicine.
The primary role of this position will be focused on teaching the didactic and experiential components of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program and developing a successful clinical practice in inpatient Internal Medicine. Additional responsibilities include service to the practice site and college and contributions to research and scholarship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Provide didactic, laboratory, and small group teaching as well as, course coordination as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
•Develop and maintain a clinical practice site to provide patient care, as well as a location to act as a Preceptor for students and residents.
•Serve as a mentor, advocate and adviser to students and peer faculty members to guide their scholarly development and career aspirations.
•Conduct scholarly activities within the department and school.
•Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
PharmD - Graduate of an accredited school or college of pharmacy (required).
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Residency or Fellowship, or equivalent experience in the specialty area (required).
Active Georgia pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure within 60 days of hire (required).
Desired Qualification
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 in Internal Medicine.
