Job Functions:

• Reporting to work everyday as scheduled
• Conducting pre-operational inspections of equipment
• Understanding soils and safe procedures for excavating soils
• Working with others to accomplish team/project goals
• Possessing the proper licenses and qualifications to drive/operate equipment
• Safely completing assigned work tasks
• Operating various equipment such as Backhoes and Excavators in a safe and efficient manner according to manufactures and PCL policies
• Effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and clients to maintain good relationships at work

Qualifications:

• Ability to take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects
• Able to identify ground markers
• Able to identify and locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work
• Ability to load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials, using trucks, backhoes, excavators, or related equipment
• Ability to safely operate backhoes, excavators, bobcats, and related equipment efficiently to accomplish trenching, excavating, auguring, and other project tasks
• Must be willing to travel
