In partnership with the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority, PCI
Municipal operates the Ann Arbor city parking operation. Consisting of 8 parking structures, 15 lots, and over 2,200 on-street parking spaces, the parking system serves thousands of parking patrons annually.

JOB SUMMARY:

Parking Attendant Utility Associates are highly versatile, trained to perform multiple functions for the parking operation including tasks related to cashiering, maintenance, and on-street meters. This is a nonexempt hourly position that reports to the Operations Area Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Complete work orders assigned through Fiix software as needed that include, but are not limited to the following list of duties throughout all PCI garages and lots using company provided supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE):

  • Empty trash cans, change liners, and polish trash receptacles.
  • Remove trash and debris, sweep, and mop all areas including curbs, stairs, walkways, elevators, elevator landings, drive lanes, and other areas.
  • Clean, wipe down, and dust windows, window ledges, handrails, 911 boxes, cashier booths, pay machines, signage, light fixtures, and other equipment.
  • Clean vomit, urine, feces, and blood from all areas of operation.
  • Clean, dust, vacuum, mop, and restock offices, restrooms, breakrooms, cashier booths and other areas.
  • Perform car counts.
  • Respond to elevator and equipment problems, perform resets, and clear coin or paper jams.
  • Perform regular structure and lot tours daily with the team.
  • Direct incoming or exiting traffic to appropriate lanes.
  • Communicate with customers in a friendly and inviting manner.
  • Inform management of safety and security issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with power washing, painting, and graffiti removal.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Perform snow removal duties including, but not limited to shoveling, scrapping, and applying mag salt.
  • Accurately calculate and collect parking fees from customers.
  • Accurately complete the daily cashier shift report.
  • Provide cashiers with breaks and change.
  • Conduct audits and collect money from parking meters.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, assist with repairs/replacement, and restock all meter mechanisms, heads, housing, posts, and other equipment.
  • Accurately install and remove meter hoods in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORK LOCATION, CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • In person at multiple locations throughout downtown Ann Arbor.
  • Required to work 90% of time outside in all weather conditions.
  • Capable of working in extreme cold, heat, and high wind conditions for extended periods.
  • Capable of working in a garage environment exposed to noise, moving vehicles, crowds, engaging customers, and employees.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Repetitive use of hands, grasping and holding tools, performing repetitive keypunch and fee computer transactions.
  • Extensive walking, standing, bending reaching, crouching, twisting, and stair climbing sometimes for several hours.
  • Regularly works with various cleaning solvents, and hazardous substances for removal of graffiti, cleaning, painting, and other applications.
  • Required to use light to medium power tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Cashiering duties will require work inside and outside of the booth.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Basic math
  • Excellent customer service
  • Cleaning and cashiering experience
  • Task driven ability to work on your own.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Driver's License (Required)

SALARY:

  • · $19.40 - $20.40 per hour

SCHEDULE & SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

  • Full Time/40hrs per week/8hrs per day
  • Afternoon (3:00PM - 11:30PM) - 1 position available
