PBS is Hiring a Patient Transporter Near Brunswick, NJ

Some of the industries we have worked with in the past include office, retail, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, financial, and education.

Private and public hospitals throughout New Jersey are seeking reliable, independent and motivated individuals to join their Patient Transporter team. Interested candidates must have the flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. A minimum of 6 months previous maintenance experience required, preferably in a health care setting.

Patient Transporter Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction.
  • Transports patients inside and outside of the facility to designated areas in a punctual and timely manner.
  • Lifts patients in and out of bed, chairs, taxis and ambulances to move them to and from treatment areas and procedure rooms.
  • Offers comfort and support to patients and their families.
  • Transports medical equipment, supplies and laboratory specimens to designated treatment, diagnostic and patient care areas.
  • Moves deceased patients and their belongings to the mortuary.
  • Respects and protects patient confidence and hospital confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and patient information private.
  • Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients, their possessions, supplies and laboratory specimens.
  • Maintains a secure, clean and healthy work environment by adhering to the standards and regulations that are set forth by the hospital and local, state and federal governments,
  • Routinely complies with the standards set forth by JCAHO and HIPAA.
  • Regularly participates in ongoing education to improve knowledge and skills.

Patient Transporter Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year in experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Impeccable organization and time management skills
