We are seeking a full-time Developmental Specialist to provide services and support to families Bernalillo and Sandoval Counties in order to enhance their ability to meet their child's developmental needs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals with a commitment to support a child's learning and development during the important time from birth to three years of age.

Position Summary

Under indirect, solution-focused supervision demonstrates and imparts knowledge of current theories about typically and atypically developing infants and toddlers ages 0-3. Supports parental involvement in child’s development through parent/child interventions based upon a therapeutic Family Systems Approach to service delivery during home and community visits. Administer, score, and interpret developmental assessments to determine eligibility for services as well as ongoing progress. Works collaboratively with families to determine Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals that promote safe environments, nutrition, and child development by addressing parent treatment, early childhood interventions and life skills development. Coordinates treatment teams for enrolled families and provides services in accordance with family needs. Contributes to achievement of overall program goals.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• BA/BS Degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Counseling or related field. Individuals with a bachelor's degree in another field can substitute two (2) years of direct experience serving individuals with disabilities and/or families.
• Must maintain Developmental Specialist Certification in accordance with FIT Program regulations (7.30.8 NMAC and DDSD policy).
• Knowledge and understanding of Early Intervention and/or NM FIT Program.
• Must complete required training.

Conditions of Employment:

• Fingerprints, CYFD background check.
• Must have a valid and current driver's license with good driving record and must have current auto insurance as required by applicable state law.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Pay: $35,568.00 - $40,000.00 per year
