Role Spotlight: Accounting and Operations Manager

This role is a golden ticket to the heart of Payzli's operations, offering comprehensive exposure across all company facets—from finance and accounting to operations, sales, and technology. Directly reporting to a senior executive, you'll be pivotal in managing our financial landscape, including overseeing bookkeeping services, leading financial reporting, ensuring tax compliance, and streamlining payment processing operations. We're looking for finance enthusiasts with sharp analytical skills and a fervent passion for the fintech ecosystem's dynamic pace. Responsibilities:

Accounting and Operations

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payments reconciliation, and payroll
• Daily reconciliation of payment processing activity for each processor (2)
• Analyze customer and vendor pricing to optimize revenues and costs
• Reconcile, review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis
• Manage relationship with external tax accountants and outsourced bookkeeping services
• Monitor cash flow, maintain banking relationships, and manage cash and / or investments
• Assist in the continued development of functional policies, procedures, operational controls, data management and information technology initiatives
• Liaise with other internal departments within the company (e.g. sales, technology, risk management)

Financial Reporting

• Responsible for all external financial reporting to investors, credit card brands, customers, and income tax reporting (Tax returns, payroll, 1099s)
• Prepare monthly management internal reporting (profitability, cash flows, revenues, technology spend) and the board of directors
• Participate in the preparation of annual financial statements
• Partner with external accounting resources to implement, enhance, and / or automate accounting processes for new products, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and other core accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
• Familiarity with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Experience in the payments industry or fintech sector is a plus.
