Position: Detention Deputy
Starting salary: $2,600.00 Monthly
The Payne County Sheriff’s Office is looking for outstanding individuals to be dedicated and motivated detention deputy. The ideal candidate is a person who is committed to public service and making a positive impact on the community.
As a Payne County Sheriff’s Office Detention Deputy, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the detention center and inmates, report for duty on short notice, work independently, be a team player, be able to make quick decisions, multitask, and be able to make good judgment determining the appropriate course of action under stressful conditions.

Preferred Experience
Detention Deputy experience preferred but not required.
Requirements
Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have a valid driver license
Must pass a background investigation
Must be willing to work mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to use telephone, facsimile, computer, email, and radio
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail
Must be able to handle stress effectively without it interfering with performance
Must possess or be able to obtain appropriate certifications
Must have excellent verbal communication skills
Must be able to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
Must possess basic computer skills and be proficient
Must handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
No felony convictions
No conviction for domestic assault
No conviction for a crime of moral turpitude
Must be a U.S. Citizen or meet eligibly requirements for working in the U.S.
Pay and Benefits
Starting salary - $2,600.00 monthly, pay increase after completion of training and probation
