Paws4ever, an animal welfare organization in Mebane, North Carolina, seeks a dependable and dedicated individual to perform animal care and cleaning duties at our Adoption Center. Must be able to work some weekend days and some holiday shifts are required. The position is temporary until 9/30/24 and is part time.

Primary duties include providing quality animal care for the animals at the Paws4ever Adoption Center, including proper nutrition, medication (as needed) per DVM protocol, exercise and enrichment, and serving as a customer service agent for potential adopters, volunteers, and guests. The staff member will treat the animals and visitors with respect and maintain a high standard of care as established by Paws4ever. Animal Care Technicians must also ensure the stringent cleaning of the Adoption Center and other buildings per health code and the maintenance of a clean and safe environment at all times. The staff member reports to the Adoption Center Manager and ultimately the Executive Director. Training provided.

Candidate must be at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent required. The successful candidate will have stringent animal care standards, be dedicated and trustworthy. Must be able to comprehend verbal and written instructions. Must have reliable transportation and valid NC drivers license. Must be able to move/lift 50 lbs., bend frequently, and stand throughout the workday. Must be able to work with cats and dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Pay rate is $12 per hour.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a kennel/shelter setting. Exposure to disinfectant solutions and zoonotic diseases. Subject to animal bites and scratches while handling or working around animals.

Job Type: Temporary until 9/30/24, Part Time, 24 hours per week position (includes one weekend day and some holidays)

Pay: $12.00/hour
