Paws and Claws Veterinary Hospital is Hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Near Woodland, CA

Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital is seeking capable Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) to join our team. At Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital we value the quality of care we provide for our clients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with patients in a fast-paced setting and interacting with the management staff to develop new protocols and help improve workflow. A successful candidate will need to be passionate about helping patients and their people. The technician must be a detail- oriented person who can make good decisions, respond quickly and calmly to crises, and always maintain high standards of patient care and enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Licensed registered veterinary technician’s provide training, supervision, and leadership for other members of the Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital team.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to set a good example, promote a positive work environment and provide direction and motivation to co-workers are important aspects of the position. Promote a positive attitude and demonstrate a commitment to the vision/mission of the practice.

Maintain a California Controlled Drug Permit.

Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform various veterinary procedures, such as administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments, including dental procedures.
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Take and develop X-rays of animals
- Provide post-operative care and monitoring of animals
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including blood work and sample analysis
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to the veterinarian

Requirements:
- Certification or degree in veterinary technology or a related field
- Previous experience working as a veterinary technician is preferred
- Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques and restraint methods
- Proficiency in performing X-rays and other diagnostic imaging procedures
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and emergency protocols
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures, including sample collection and analysis
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other veterinary professionals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
