Basic Description
Responsible for painting, caulking, texturing, repairing/replacing drywall, and assisting in light maintenance work to renovate apartments.
This position is responsible for all of the following:
  • Painting all walls, trim, doors, window frames, ceilings, vents, closets, shelving, and cabinets in vacant apartment units
  • Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches surfaces and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials.
  • Caulking around sinks, bathtubs, and cabinets
  • Painting the interior clubhouse, offices, models, laundry rooms, exterior entranceway, pool gates and decks, exterior fences/meter box housings, gazebo areas, mailbox areas, and curbs on an as-needed basis
  • Hanging sheetrock and patching or repairing holes in walls or ceilings as needed
  • Tapes, flushes, repairs, and applies texturing and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces.
  • Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains all painting equipment, sprayers, pumps, etc.
  • Safely stores and labels all materials.
  • Maintains appropriate service records.
  • Functions both individually and as a member of a team.
  • Remains safety-conscious at all times.
  • Determining and communicating to the Regional Field Manager any supplies (paint, brushes, etc.) necessary to paint units
Requirements:
  • Six (6) months of experience in apartments and/or residential painting
  • Must be able to read, speak and understand English for business purposes
  • Ability to operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
  • Ability to mix paints and apply finishes to a variety of surfaces
  • Ability to coordinate work flow for multiple projects
  • Follow and give oral instructions and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Detail Oriented
  • Must have reliable transportation to and form job sites around DFW.
  • Must be able to read and write instructions, short correspondence, memos, and to converse with residents, co-workers, and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background investigation including criminal record search, employment verification, and drug screen
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders; use hands to finger, handle, grasp or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk; hear.
  • Employees may also be required to lift heavy objects up to 75 pounds with the assistance of a dolly and another employee.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
