Basic Description
Responsible for painting, caulking, texturing, repairing/replacing drywall, and assisting in light maintenance work to renovate apartments.
This position is responsible for all of the following:
Painting all walls, trim, doors, window frames, ceilings, vents, closets, shelving, and cabinets in vacant apartment units
Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches surfaces and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials.
Caulking around sinks, bathtubs, and cabinets
Painting the interior clubhouse, offices, models, laundry rooms, exterior entranceway, pool gates and decks, exterior fences/meter box housings, gazebo areas, mailbox areas, and curbs on an as-needed basis
Hanging sheetrock and patching or repairing holes in walls or ceilings as needed
Tapes, flushes, repairs, and applies texturing and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces.
Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
Operates, cleans, and maintains all painting equipment, sprayers, pumps, etc.
Safely stores and labels all materials.
Maintains appropriate service records.
Functions both individually and as a member of a team.
Remains safety-conscious at all times.
Determining and communicating to the Regional Field Manager any supplies (paint, brushes, etc.) necessary to paint units
Requirements:
Six (6) months of experience in apartments and/or residential painting
Must be able to read, speak and understand English for business purposes
Ability to operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
Ability to mix paints and apply finishes to a variety of surfaces
Ability to coordinate work flow for multiple projects
Follow and give oral instructions and maintain cooperative working relationships
Detail Oriented
Must have reliable transportation to and form job sites around DFW.
Must be able to read and write instructions, short correspondence, memos, and to converse with residents, co-workers, and vendors in a professional manner.
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background investigation including criminal record search, employment verification, and drug screen
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders; use hands to finger, handle, grasp or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk; hear.
Employees may also be required to lift heavy objects up to 75 pounds with the assistance of a dolly and another employee.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
