    Student Services Department - Lead Social Worker - Pattonville Learning Center - 2024-2025
    Position Purpose:
    The social worker will work under the general supervision of the Pattonville Director of Student Services. Key position responsibilities include providing students, parents, and guardians with individually-tailored consultation, resources, and referrals to maximize the student experience, address student social/emotional needs, and help students overcome barriers. The social worker should conform to the standards established by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) code of ethics.
    Work Schedule/Position Information:
    • Salary range - $53,140 - $93,410
    • Contract days - 222 days (212 days 10 additional days)
    • Salary is determined based on years of experience
    Essential Functions:
    • Conducts assessments and evaluations to determine the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students in order to provide effective intervention strategies leading to academic success
    • Performs casework services with students and parents to encourage parental understanding of, and participation in, overcoming challenges to maximize the educational experience of students
    • Coordinates with outside agencies, organizations, and institutions
    • Serves as a resource to students and parents to counseling services that will lead to increased student personal growth, self-understanding, and behavioral management
    • Serves as a liaison between home and school
    • Assists administrators with issues relative to IDEA, 504, and the Missouri Division of Family Services
    • Acquires professional knowledge of current developments in the field by attending seminars, workshops, professional meetings, and/or by conducting research
    • Provides crisis intervention services
    • Assists teachers, administrators, counselors, and nurses in the identification and reporting of suspected child abuse and neglect
    • Organizes and maintains systems for accurate and complete record-keeping as required by district/department procedures and applicable laws
    • Supports parental/guardian involvement in their child's education and facilitates effective communication between school and home
    • Assists with homeless students and students in foster care
    • Assists with residency investigation follow-up as related to McKinney Vento verification
    • Provide social work case management support for Pattonville High School
    • Assist the with the implementation of PK-12 social-emotional learning initiatives
    • Assist with development of district-wide Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions such as mentoring and attendance Initiatives.
    and
    • Other duties as determined by the Pattonville Director of Student Services
    Additional Duties:
    • Performs other related tasks/duties as assigned by supervisors

    Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
    • Knowledge of social work principles, theories, methods, assessments, etc.
    • Knowledge of differentiated instruction based on student learning styles
    • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans
    • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
    • Knowledge of trauma-informed care
    • Ability to organize and coordinate work with others
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians

    Certification/License:
    • Missouri Licensed Clinical State Social Worker Certification
    Education:
    • Master's Degree in social work from an accredited college or university required
    Experience:
    • Successful prior social work experience preferred
