    This is a summer position for the 2024 summer.
    Applicants must submit the following information with their application:
    • Proposed Course Name
    • Proposed Course Description (five to ten sentences)
    • List of all MO Learning Standards (math, ELA, SS, and science) that will be addressed in the course. *Elementary school courses must all include Math or ELA standards in addition to any other standards.
    Position Purpose:
    Under the general supervision of the summer school principal, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing enrichment classes. Enrichment teachers will teach four sections of the same grade level a 90-minute class.
    Essential Functions:
    • Develop and write a proposal for your enrichment class. This proposal should outline the learning objectives of your class, the activities you will be doing, the materials you will need, and how you will assess student learning.
    • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized learning and small-group instruction.
    • Develops lesson plans that result in high-quality learning experiences that maximize instructional time.
    • Ensures that student behavior conforms to the school/district policies and establishes/maintains standards of student conduct needed to achieve an effective learning environment.
    • Coordinates with other staff members and participates in faculty meetings
    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that are aligned with the program's learning objectives.
    • Create a positive and stimulating learning environment where students feel respected and valued.
    • Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
    • Assess student progress and make adjustments to instruction as needed.
    • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
    • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
    Additional Duties:
    • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal(s).

    Travel Requirements:
    • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of current English language development teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
    • Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
    • Ability to use learning software applications as needed.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians.
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
    Qualifications:
    • Elementary Education B-5
    Education:
    • Bachelors or masters degree from an accredited college or university.
    FLSA Status: Exempt
    All positions are based on student enrollment needs. If not enough students select a course, the course will not take place. Teachers could teach some but not all weeks.
