The IT Security Analyst is responsible for safeguarding information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems. This role requires a proactive approach to protect digital files and vital electronic infrastructure, respond to computer security breaches, CVE Patching, malware, viruses, and ensure compliance with security policies and protocols. Cross-reference logs and remediating any alerts in our security systems.

Essential Functions

1. Assess and develop long-term strategic security goals in conjunction with IT Director and other department heads.

2. Develop and implement security standards, processes, and procedures, and ensure that they align with company objectives.

3. Identify security vulnerabilities and execute a strategic response to neutralize or mitigate potential security threats.

4. Conduct research and recommend security enhancements and tools in support of procurement and development efforts.

5. Install and configure security solutions to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.

6. Monitor security access and perform regular security assessments and audits.

7. Respond promptly to security incidents and provide thorough post-event analysis.

8. Maintain an awareness of trends in security regulatory, policy, and technological changes.

9. Engage in proactive measures to prevent security issues and threats.

10. Plan and execute regular security drills and training sessions to ensure organization-wide readiness.

11. Develop and maintain a secure environment across all platforms, including cloud services and mobile applications.

12. Advise on and manage the installation of new security technologies and program updates.

13. Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position requires no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and, in some cases, from a remote offsite location. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is primarily sedentary but will occasionally be required to stand or balance when conducting onsite troubleshooting, as well as use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This employee requires full range of motion of arms and legs and requires movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity and coordination. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the IT Director; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekend and evening hours will be necessary to accommodate any issues that might arise.

Travel

This position requires 30% travel time.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience with relevant certification(s) (e.g. Network , CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security ).
  • Proficient understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, security.
  • Experience with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Familiarity with web-related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.
  • Familiarity with CrowdStrike, Z-scaler, and Microsoft Azure a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to and manage security incidents in a timely and effective manner.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Pre-employment background check, MVR, and drug screening required.
  • Clean driving record with no major or excessive violations within previous 3 years
