Strong candidates with an interest in machines and quality inspection will learn how to operate a coordinate measuring machine to inspect the geometry of structural aircraft parts.

After on-the-job training, the CMM Operator will be able to:

• set up parts on the CMM using the set up images and on screen prompts
• operate CMM in manual mode and check simple parts
• understand how to and where to safely restart a program after pausing 
• print reports and save reports to the correct file locations
• create Key Characteristic (KC) reports for recurring KC parts (.res files from Valysis and excel files from PC-DMIS)
• calibrate probe tips 
• set up fixtures/tooling when required
• clamp parts to CMM table
  1. When parts need to be clamped
  2. How to safely clamp without marking the part or getting in the way of the probe
  3. How much force to apply with regards to spec
• properly clean and maintain the CMM machine

Requirements:

• Applicant must be a U.S. Person
• Minimum High School education, Trade School experience preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and strong spatial reasoning 
• Attention to detail and dedication for excellence
• A self-starter willing to learn and collaborate
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing or technical field is preferred but not required
