Job Summary: Supporting the DFW Region, the Field Project Support will be responsible for project-specific erection plans, project-specific safety plans, produces, compiles, designs, and modifications based on project objectives and issues, assisting in producing front-end submittals; in addition, this role researches and develops engineering conceptual solutions and approaches to unique situations, reviews structural designs, provides guidance in the use of innovative design solutions and value-engineering alternatives all in support of operations, and supports the projects and field with execution issues as necessary.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Work with our internal project team members, general contractors, and design teams (engineers and architects) to develop innovative solutions to complex issues and verify project requirements.
- Experience and capabilities in designing structural and miscellaneous steel framing, including structures, stairs, rails, connections, rigging, shoring, and erection bracing.
- Required to Analyze projects and provide input concerning restrictions on the design of the structures based on the technical details of the existing site conditions.
- Experience reading and interpreting contract drawings and specifications.
- Experience with steel design methods and requirements.
- Identify and establish performance requirements based on project information.
- Identify constructability concerns.
- Ability to perform analysis and design of steel framing and components.
- Ability to review design calculation packages and identify issues.
- Ability to create drawings and sketches documenting the design requirements.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Strong Leadership skills with the ability to teach and train other staff members
- Strong Communication skills, both in person and in writing
- Strong Comprehension skills, both in person and in writing
- High attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Structural, Mechanical, Civil or Architectural engineering, however, Structural Engineering is preferred.
- Five years of general project or construction experience– commercial steel fabrication experience is a plus.
- Practical knowledge and experience with compliance regarding applicable codes and regulations, including but not limited to IBC, ASCE 7, and AISC codes.
- Knowledge and experience in AutoCAD, Revit, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, RAM Connection, and Microsoft Excel/Word (Experience with other design programs considered).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Tekla preferred.
- Certificates and Licenses: Ability to obtain a Texas Professional Engineer’s license.
