Recovering Airman Mentorship Program Specialist

The Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2) Program works with the Air Force Survivor Assistance Program, Airman & Family Readiness Centers, and the Air Force Medical Service to provide concentrated non-medical care and support for combat wounded, ill and injured Airmen (and their families) as they recover and transition back to duty or into civilian life.

Recovering Airman Mentorship Program (RAMP) Specialists

The Recovering Airman Mentorship Program (RAMP) assists recovering Airmen by establishing genuine peer-to-peer mentorship relationships to help navigate recovery and build resilient Airmen.

The support provided by the mentors covers a broad spectrum of illnesses and visible / invisible wounds, while encouraging confidence and a team approach to recovery.

Job Duties :

• Review and maintain Mentee / Mentor Applications
• Match and train mentor / mentee teams
• Track and gather monthly feedback from the Mentor and Mentee.
• Plan and execute Mentor Workshops -Monthly Mentor Workshop or CARE event
• Check in and follow up with teams
• Research, receive, solicit, analyze, edit, and assist in developing material necessary for outreach initiatives, such as social media updates, brochures, calendar of events, etc.
• Host Virtual / In-person Mentor Social Hour events
• Host Virtual RAMP Live events
• Position requires 20%-30% local and national travel to support the AFW2 mission.

Required Skills / Qualifications

• Possess relative knowledge and experience in resiliency and community-based programs to support AFW2 Resiliency and Community Program Managers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to develop, collect, report, and disseminate metrics upon request.
• Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communications skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to access needs and recommend solutions
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to pass a background check

Required Education Level :

• Bachelor's degree or relevant degree social work
• certified resilience trainer / instructor.
• Three years of real work experience in providing direct support to wounded, ill and injured service members, caregivers, and family members.
